Readings List

You will need four books over the course of this semester. You will have weekly readings assignments (and reading blogs) over selected chapters from these books. Some of your chapter assignments will also be the focus of class discussions.

  • Extreme Programming Installed [1st edition]
    •  by Ron Jeffries, Ann Anderson, and Chet Hendrickson
  • The Design of Future Things
    • by Don Norman
  • Mythical Man Month [2nd edition]
    • by Frederick P. Brooks
  •  The Inmates are Running the Asylum
    • by Alan Cooper
Amazon and other websites may allow you to view chapters for free (especially the initial chapters). Use this to your advantage so that you can get your initial readings done on time. The TAMU library may also have some of the books on electronic reserve for free online reading. As of January 19, Extreme Programming Installed, Mythical Man Month, and The Inmates are Running the Asylum were all viewable through the library.
